We've been going every year for the last nine years or so. I'd been as a child, but my wife and I make a habit of it every year since we've been together.
My family has gone to the local Jay County fair since I could crawl for the last 25 years, but we have only attended the state fair for the last 9 years, and the first time was my Freshman year of High school. And we will never miss another one!
My husband and I have been going every year since dating in college. We are now starting a new tradition of taking our son for his first time this year at 3 months old! :-)
I've only been going to the state fair since I started at Purdue (about 10 years, or so). And my husband has not ever been. I would love the chance to take him and let him experience the fair the way I've been so fortunate to experience it.
My entire family has been going to the Indiana State Fair for 40+ years & within the family we have traditions such as my sister & I go one day by ourselves so that we can do & see the things that everyone else would drag us away from & we've been doing that for 7 yrs! And now my youngest son (16yrs) & I go a day by ourselves where we do whatever we decide sounds interesting & that is now 4 yrs strong! I LOVE THE GREAT INDIANA STATE FAIR!
This will be our first trip to the Indiana State Fair and I cannot wait! I've wanted to go for years but never had the opportunity or person to go with. Now I do have both, so we are goin!
I am 47 years old and as far back as I cam remember we have gone to the fair every year. My mom was a 4-H leader and my sister has been one now for over 30 years. My father was involved with farm equipment so we went every year and made sure we went to the Pioneer Village and of course the 4-H projects. I love going to see the new things and just smell the fair smell.
Our family has never been to the state fair. My daughter has had 4-H projects go to the state fair but getting out family of five down to the state fair, with admission and food is a bit pricey for us. We would love to visit sometime though!
i have only been going to the fair since i met my husband 6 years ago. its like our little tradition know and i love riding the farris wheel with him and eating fried oreos!!!
I have been going to the fair for 30-40 years. I marched in the band at the fair and the last year that I marched we won 6th place. My kids grew up going to the fair and now I take my grandkids. We LOVE the fair and I think its a HUGE part of growing up in Indiana. I would LOVE to win the tickets so I could continue on with the tradition.
The last time I was at the fair was with my Mom when I was still living in South Bend and around 9-12 years old.
I'm now 23, graduated from Purdue, living/working in Indianapolis and my Mom will be coming down to visit and finally get back to the fair after such a layoff.
CANT WAIT to enjoy the fair and the tickets would make it that much better! =)
We have gone just about every year since I was a baby. So, 35+ years! We try to take advantage of the free/cheap admission days, but sometimes that doesn't work out. These tickets would be WONDERFUL!!
I grew up going to the fair on the state fair train when it ran on the monon line. Two years in a row I lost my favorite doll on the midway (parents didn't learn the first time ; ) ) I showed our neighbors goat at the age of 3. It was more of a tug of war match than anything. Through 4-H, my summers were centered around the State Fair and Dairy Goat judging and showing. We lived in the city near the "new" tracks, so I always associate the sound of a horn blowing with this time of year.My son is 3 now and has been every year since he was born. He loves it. We walk by before and watch as the midway comes to life, transforming from a parking lot to a sparkly loud place where people are naturally drawn to even if they don't ride the rides. I can't wait to be able to take my son this year and see what he can experience for himself.-Mary K. Fischer m.k.fisch@gmail.com
I have been going to the State Fair for 15 years! My mom is the band director at Cowan Community Schools in Muncie. I have been to band day most of my life. My family loves the fair and all it has to offer!! <3
We've been going since 2002 - our son's first year in 4-H. A memorable year - he and his mare when Grand Champion Western Mare during the junior division of the 4-H Horse and Pony show.
I went a few times as a child 30 plus years ago but only since I have had children have I started going again. so much to do for everyone, no matter the age! And of course the food, ohhh the food!
